My name is Gyða, software tester extraordinaire. I graduated with a BSc in Computer Science from Reykjavik University in 2008 and have been testing (formally) since 2007.
I’d say software testing is in my blood. When I was a kid, I’d often get toys that just didn’t work. Either they failed on me fast, or they somehow arrived broken. I always had to fiddle with them to get them working again. I’m the kind of person who touches the payment terminal and it crashes. The self-checkout kiosk? Blue screen. In a work environment, hardware and software both start breaking down in a radius around me.
Was free seating created because of people like me? Coincidence? Strange electromagnetic field? Or is software just shit? I don’t know. But I do know there is plenty of work to do, and I am here for it.
Lately I have been focusing on cybersecurity, penetration testing in particular, and bug bounty. Light pen testing has always been part of solid software testing, but now I get to give it real attention. I have always been fascinated by this side of things and I am loving that I finally get to dig in.
